Quneitra: Israel Launches Missile Attack on Syrian Army Again

Israel’s fighter jets attacked a military position of the Syrian Army with missiles in Quneitra Province as government forces continue the operation to clean up Northwestern Syria from terrorists.

A military position of the Syrian Army came under Israel’s missile attack in Tal al-Sha’ar region East of Khan Arnabeh in Quneitra Province, SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying on Friday night.

A military vehicle of the Syrian Army was damaged in the Israeli attack and a Syrian soldier was killed and another one was wounded in Israel’s attack.

The Arabic-language website of the Russian Sputnik News Agency also quoted a battlefield source as saying three Israeli missiles also hit al-Kasveh region near Damascus.

Meantime, the Israeli Army claimed that its fighter jets had targeted Syrian Army’s air defense system in Quneitra in response to firing rockets at Israeli warplanes.

The Israeli Army’s new aggression against Syrian Army’s military positions in Quneitra province came as the US and Turkish sides are trying to bring to a halt the Syrian Army battle against Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at in Idlib province.

In a relevant development earlier this month, the Damascus Army’s air defense systems had shot down more Israeli drones before they could arrive in Quneitra.

The SANA news agency reported that the Syrian Army’s air defense systems had targeted aerial vehicles coming from Occupied Golan that had violated Qunietra province’s airspace.

The Arabic-language version of Sputnik news agency, meantime, pointed to the possibility that the drones have been spy aircraft and the Syrian Army’s air defense had confronted two of them that had violated the Syrian airspace in Jabal al-Sheikh in Western Occupied Golan and Khan Arnabeh in Quneitra.

In a relevant development earlier, the Syrian Army’s air defense systems targeted and shot down an Israeli drone after detecting it coming from Quneitra towards Damascus.

The Syrian Army’s air defense systems downed an Israeli regime’s drone near Damascus, SANA news agency quoted a military source as saying.

The source noted that the Syrian air defense detected hostile targets coming from the direction of Quneitra and intercepted them.

In a relevant development earlier, SANA reported that aerial defenses targeted luminous objects coming from the occupied territories, shooting down a number of them.

Meantime, the Arabic-language version of Russian Sputnik News Agency quoted a Syrian security source as saying that the Syrian Army’s air defense systems downed an Israeli drone that had entered Syria from Southwestern Damascus.

The source pointed to firing surface-to-air missiles at offending targets in Southwestern Damascus near Syria-Lebanon-Golan triangle, and said that the Syrian Army’s air defense systems had confronted six targets and downed a number of them.

The Israeli regime occasionally launches airstrikes on the Syrian territory. Such aggressive moves are meant to compensate defeats by terrorist groups against the Syrian government forces.
